Ciara Musgrave, MSW, LCSW

I’m Ciara McNeill Musgrave, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). I earned my Master of Social Work (MSW) in 2019 through one of the few Joint MSW programs in the country, offered by NC A&T and UNCG.
I hold undergraduate degrees in both Human Development and Family Studies and Psychology. During graduate school, I worked within the school system across six different K–12 schools, gaining hands-on experience supporting students of all ages. I also spent nearly a year and a half working professionally in community mental health, where I facilitated both group and individual therapy for clients ages 4 to 60+, while serving as the Child and Adolescent Specialist.
In 2021, I transitioned into private practice, where I now provide counseling for children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families. I work with clients navigating anxiety, perfectionism, depression, trauma, OCD, major life transitions (such as marriage, parenthood, job changes, moving, or entering/exiting college), grief and loss, couples and marriage concerns, disordered eating patterns, high-functioning autism, social and emotional skill-building, relationship challenges, and codependency.
While I lead with compassion, I’m not a “nod and smile” therapist. My style is warm, direct, and grounded. I’ll challenge you when you need it, sit with you when things feel heavy, and help you sort through the mental noise that keeps you stuck. I believe therapy should offer more than vague reflection—you deserve clarity, honesty, and practical tools that actually help your life feel different.
I offer both in-person and teletherapy services to clients across North Carolina. My work draws from a blend of therapeutic approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral techniques, Trauma-Informed care, Cognitive Processing skills, and Gottman methods.
Why I Love What I Do:
My belief is that while one person can’t change the entire world, therapy can absolutely change someone’s world. Helping clients experience that kind of shift is why I show up every day.
I often joke with clients, “I came out of the womb with high-functioning anxiety—and if I can make it through, so can you!”
