A Little History...

Dr. Don Bartley began working as a therapist in 1983 after obtaining a doctorate in ministry and a master of arts degree in counseling. Fast forward through 21 years of work - spanning director positions at 3 different counseling facilities, teaching marriage and family therapy as a college professor, and being a pastor - and Counseling Asheboro is born in 2004. Don owned and managed Counseling Asheboro from that point until his retirement in 2022, and then handed the business down to his mentee, Hannah Houston, who renamed the business Haven Counseling.

Who We Are Now

Now under Hannah's leadership, Haven Counseling has strived to keep Don's image of Christian based counseling alive by seeking to treat the whole person through biblical principles and ideology. If that isn't your preference, don't worry! We can also approach the therapeutic process using standard methods and leave faith out of the equation.
