A Little History...
Dr. Don Bartley began working as a therapist in 1983 after obtaining a doctorate in ministry and a master of arts degree in counseling. Fast forward through 21 years of work - spanning director positions at 3 different counseling facilities, teaching marriage and family therapy as a college professor, and being a pastor - and Counseling Asheboro is born in 2004. Don owned and managed Counseling Asheboro from that point until his retirement in 2022, and then handed the business down to his mentee, Hannah Houston, who renamed the business Haven Counseling.
Who We Are Now
Under Hannah’s leadership, Haven Counseling continues the legacy Don began—offering Christ-centered counseling rooted in biblical truth and guided by compassion, grace, and hope. We believe in caring for the whole person and walking alongside individuals as they seek healing, growth, and restoration, trusting that God is present in the work of renewal and transformation.
While our foundation is faith-centered, we also honor that each person’s journey is unique. Our clinicians thoughtfully meet clients where they are, integrating evidence-based therapeutic practices and incorporating faith at a level that feels supportive and appropriate for you. With four dedicated clinicians on our team, we are ready to walk alongside you wherever you find yourself today. Reach out to schedule your appointment—we would be honored to serve you.
