Melissa Woodell, LCMHCA

Counseling, for me, is far more than a profession—it is a calling rooted in faith, community, and a deep commitment to helping others heal, grow, and thrive. I believe every person has inherent worth, resilience, and the capacity for change, and it is my privilege to walk alongside clients as they navigate life’s challenges and discover their strengths.

Currently, I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate (LCMHCA) in North Carolina and hold a National Certified Counselor (NCC) credential. I bring a client-centered, compassionate approach to therapy, meeting individuals exactly where they are with respect, warmth, and understanding. No two people share the same story, which is why I utilize an eclectic theoretical orientation by integrating evidence-based modalities
such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), solution-focused, strengths-based, positive and person-centered approaches, mindfulness-informed interventions, while thoughtfully and appropriately tailoring counseling techniques, strategies, and interventions to each client’s unique needs, goals, and circumstances.

I am passionate about promoting overall health and wellness and believe healing occurs most effectively within a supportive and collaborative working relationship. My role is not to direct your journey, but to empower you—helping you build insight, confidence, and practical skills that support lasting change. Clients have described me as caring, genuine, thorough, attentive, and sincere.

I happily serve children, adolescents, adults, individuals, couples, and families, and I have experience supporting clients from all walks of life. My areas of focus include anxiety disorders, depression and mood concerns, stress management, self-confidence and self-esteem, trauma, life transitions, emotional regulation, relationship challenges and reconciliation, communication difficulties, conflict resolution, premarital counseling,
family dynamics, and personal growth. Additionally, I have a background in higher education and hands-on experience working with special populations, which has increased my ability to meet clients with patience, adaptability, and respect.

As a native of Randolph County, I consider it a privilege to serve the community that helped shape who I am today. Furthermore, I am a proud graduate of Eastern Randolph High School—Go Wildcats! — and I earned degrees as an adult student from Randolph Community College, Greensboro College, and Liberty University (Lynchburg, Virginia), where I completed my Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. These experiences, combined with my professional training, allow me to offer high-quality,
ethical, and compassionate care.

At the heart of my work is a desire to create a safe, supportive space where clients feel heard, valued, and empowered. I consider it a true honor to be entrusted with your story, and I strive to provide exceptional service marked by integrity, empathy, and excellence.

When I am not serving clients, I enjoy spending time with my husband, our three children, and beloved animals—Dixie, Megatron, Belle, Bernie, and Bennie.

Ultimately, faith, family, and connection are central to my life, and these values guide the care and commitment I bring to each client, in each session. It would be my pleasure and a tremendous privilege to walk beside you with compassion, support, and hope as you move toward healing, growth, and wellness.
